The Role
As a Forklift Operator, you will accurately and efficiently move product and material throughout the distribution process.
You Will…
- Operate various types of forklifts to move product through the distribution process including unloading, put away, picking, and loading process, which may include hand loading and unloading of containers.
- Prepare product for inbound receipt and/or shipment including palletizing, re-palletizing, and carton labeling, ensuring that all warehouse and customer requirements are met.
- Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals and environment.
- Other related and similar duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Understand verbal and written instructions.
- Able to effectively communicate with the team.
- Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules and guidelines in order to prevent and reduce exposure to accidents and injuries.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Physical presence at designated worksite, work a 40-hour work schedule, maintain consistent and acceptable attendance.
- Work overtime as required, including weekend and holiday work based on business demands.
- Pay close attention to detail.
- Follow instructions and procedures to meet quality standards.
- Work in a team environment by assisting in training and facilitating job duties for other team members (including temps).
- Demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Successfully complete and pass reqired Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and test, and maintain appropriate PIV licensing.
- Use Radio Frequency (RF) units.
- Able to work in a machine based environment
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple assignments/tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate organizational skills.
