  • JOB SUMMARY

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Performs evaluation appropriate to licensure and documents in patient record

  • Participates in development of an age appropriate plan of care, which addresses physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team, including MA as directed by provider.

  • Implements the plan of care, delegates appropriately and ensures documentation of interventions.

  • Assists with patient and family teaching regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.

  • Assists with evaluating patient response to intervention and revision of plan of care.

  • Ensures superior ongoing patient satisfaction and customer service in accordance with AIDET and Studer principles.

  • Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.

  • Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing and continuing education.

  • Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.

  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.

  • May be required to work in other clinic environments according to distribution of staff and patient loads.

  • Adheres to CCH and Campbell County Medical Group policies and procedures.

  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Licensure: Current Wyoming license as a practical nurse.

  • Certifications required: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.

  • Experience: Experience in ambulatory clinic nursing preferred.

  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Hand/eye coordination in order to give injections, draw blood, start IVs, use computer, etc. Speaking clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians and staff regarding patient condition and care.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop positive interaction with patients, patient families, physicians and staff in order to effectively care for the patients.

  • Essential Physical Requirements: Requires standing or walking for long periods of time. Requires stooping, bending, pushing, pulling. Able to lift 40 pounds or less. Able to work varied shifts including evenings and week-ends.

  • Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to assess a patient’s condition, formulate a plan of care, select appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient response to care/treatment and to explain/teach patients about their condition/recovery. Requires higher level of mental faculties accompanied by short- and long-term memory. Ability to function in stressful situations and prioritize to complete job duties.

  • Essential Sensory Requirements: Corrected vision, hearing to normal range.

  • Exposure to Hazards: OSHA CATEGORY I. TASK THAT INVOLVES EXPOSURE TO BLOOD, BODY FLUIDS, OR TISSUES. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or potential for spills or splashes of them, are Category I Tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I Tasks.

  • Hours of Work: Varied scheduled shifts according to the individual clinic setting
