Lead Multi-Skill Tech – Roper St. Francis Healthcare – Charleston, SC

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the coordination and operational functions of the Engineering Department. The Lead Technician may provide direction, establish priorities, assign tasks, coordinate work projects and/or monitor the work of other Engineering staff. Responsible for accomplishing corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance on various equipment and systems and improving a successful service relationship with exceptional and proficient abilities in service and repairs. Performs a variety of duties, repairs and replaces various types of lights, thermostats, unstops toilets, sink and drains, repairs toilets, sinks, faucets, replaces ceiling tiles, air-conditioning repair, repairs pumps and motors, vacuum cleaners, ice machines, refrigerators, pneumatic tube system, patient beds, nurse call systems, exercise bicycles, treadmills, surgical tables, suction and vacuum outlets, boilers, chillers, cooling tower, eye wash stations, mounts items on the walls such as pictures, dispensers, wall pockets, etc. Assists and trains other staff members with maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance procedures. Responsible for the progress of assigned job(s) under minimal supervision. Assists in the development, scheduling and assignment of the PM program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance field, preferred experience in a healthcare environment.

Licensure/Certification: Must have a current valid SC Drivers License.

Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to work with all types of hand tools and power tools and has a proficient knowledge of maintenance disciplines. Knowledgeable in relevant codes, i.e., OSHA, EPA and Basic Safety. Must have a working knowledge in computers to complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance using the maintenance software program.

Other: This position requires operation of a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business. Due to this job requirement, the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid, current South Carolina driver’s license. In addition, the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.
