ABOUT THIS POSITION:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ Bureau of Fiscal Operations is seeking to hire an energetic Account Technician II in the Refunds and Returns Unit. This position is responsible for independently performing technical accounting work including verifying and reconciling accounts; assisting with establishing, updating, examining and reconciling the Title XXI AII Kids Medical Assistance program accounts receivables for the Department; monitoring the generation of daily invoices and monthly statements for the Title XXI All Kids Medical Assistance program; assisting in processing AII Kids and Family Care premium refunds and reviewing AII Kids and Family Care exception reports; and reviewing the disbursement of void warrants returned by verifying the accuracy of vendor data and adjusting necessary entries in the Department’s Accounting System. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to continue education and training, should be able to prioritize their daily tasks, and will be able to get work completed in a timely manner while meeting deadlines. 25% Independently performs technical accounting work.

25% Assists with the establishment, updating, examination and reconciliation of the Title XXI All Kids Medical Assistance program accounts receivables for the Department.

20% Reviews the disbursement of void warrants returned.

15% Assists higher-level accounting staff in the reporting and documenting of the disbursement associated with the Title XXI All Kids Medical Assistance program accounts receivable.

5% Serves as backup for technical accounting staff in updating the Case Tracking System database and/or other spreadsheet or database type applications.

5% Serves as backup in filing vouchers in alphabetical order by type of payout.

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience OR four years of related clerical bookkeeping experience

  • Requires working knowledge of office methods and procedures
  • Requires working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment
