Billing Specialist – Bilingual – Hispanic UMADAOP – Cleveland, OH

Position Summary
Assists in completing the administrative processes of admission and continued to stay; eligibility and prior authorizations of care with external payers and client enrollment in agency databases.
Submits claims to Alcohol/Drug Addiction and Mental Health Service (ADAMHS) Board, Medicaid, Medicare, third party insurance companies, and Managed Care Plans in accordance with mandated policies and procedures.
Documents accurately and completely all care provided using appropriate records within the allotted time frame. Prepares ongoing reports required by Hispanic UMADAOP and its funders.
Ensure accurate and timely follow-up documentation for the status of payments for denials and appeals.
Provides support for Manager of Billing Dept. and Intake Department. Assists manager in budgeting process and audits.

Qualifications and Expectations
Bilingual in speaking, reading, and writing – Spanish and English; preferred Interpersonal and group communication skills
Critical thinking and shared decision-making
Quality care assurance, procedure compliance, patient confidentiality
Work on a multidisciplinary team to discuss, assess and resolve patient problems, yet able to work independently Charting patient care inpatient chart and department charting
Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient documentation skills.
Maintain a team approach to work, cooperate, and fill in as needed whenever possible.
Work to regularly maintain education and increase knowledge in medical billing and its relationship to chemical dependency treatment services.
Communicate with clients, staff, and other responsible parties in a clear, timely manner verbally and in writing when necessary or required.
Maintain responsible, courteous phone etiquette.
Consistently maintain standards of satisfactory work attendance and punctuality. Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and training.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma/GED. CDCA preferred.
Must have 2-5 years of experience working with the Alcohol/Drug Addiction and Mental Health Service of Cuyahoga County (ADAMHSCC) billing system and EZ Claim System.
Must have 2-5 years of experience in the healthcare field. Knowledge and experience working with commercial payer sources. Superior customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.
Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 – $16.00 per hour
