Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) has a full-time Charge Nurse Position in the Med/Surg Department. The Charge RN assists and directs the activities of the hospital units to provide optimum care in accordance with established policies and procedures in addition to supervisory responsibilities. This position is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned unit. The Charge RN ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with Southern Coos Health District standards of care. The Charge RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. The Charge RN supervises staff RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and Unit Secretaries. The Charge RN is the primary decision-maker on weekends and off shifts and has the responsibility for contacting the on-call Administrative staff as indicated according to the nature of the problem. The position reports to the Med/Surg Nursing Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:
· Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
· Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Oregon.
· BLS and ACLS required.
· Requires at least one year of Med/Surg nursing experience.
This is a full-time position, working 12-hour shifts. This position is eligible for benefits. A Sign-On Bonus up to $10,000 for new hires.
