Outreach and Marketing Coordinator – Volunteers of America of KY, Inc – Louisville, KY

FUNCTION:
The Outreach and Marketing Peer Support Specialist is responsible for creating relationships with community resources in the region, including therapists, sober living, law enforcement, hospitals, medical providers, and others that need to refer for Substance Use Disorder treatment. The Outreach and Marketing Peer Support Specialist will work with the clinical leadership team to develop referral pathways and collaborative relationships with referral partners and will be partially responsible for managing all referral relationships including coordination of in-person outreach and other communication channels that yields qualified leads for program admission.

KNOW HOW:
The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, or GED. Two years post-secondary education preferred. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Current Peer Support Certification through the state of Kentucky preferred but not required; must be eligible to receive this certification within the first 60 days of employment.

The position requires exceptional and persuasive communication, customer service, critical thinking skills, ability to effectively drive through and around obstacles. Must have ability to meet people and develop positive rapport quickly. This position also requires skills in time management. Experience with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.

The candidate must exhibit compassion toward people living with behavioral health and substance use issues, Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS and the ability to convey respect to target populations and community partners. The candidate must have the background and aptitude to learn and apply Volunteers of America’s personnel and program policies and procedures.

. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Satisfactory criminal records check.

2. Satisfactory sex crimes records check.

3. Driver’s license preferred.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
1. Respond to all referral inquiries both by phone and intake line.

2. Actively participate in the daily census huddle, reporting out on daily activity, and using information gained from daily census huddle to inform activity that day

3. Establish and maintain referral relationships with therapists, law enforcement, hospitals, medical providers, and others that need to refer for SUD treatment, serving as the primary contact for these referrals, and working closely with intake team to get referrals into treatment.

4. Recommend and represent VOA at marketing events, community meetings, court dockets, etc.

5. Assist the Director of Utilization Management and the Intake, Clinical, and Marketing teams in the creation of and execution of weekly, monthly and/or quarterly marketing events and collaborations.

6. Maintain detailed understanding of all VOA ARS programs to communicate accurately and effectively with referral resources.

7. Educate and inform referral resources on new programs.

8. Track and Document all referral and marketing activity, generate reports and use the data from these reports to inform future outreach and marketing activity

9. Persistently develop leads for potential new referral partners.

10. Participate in regular staff meetings with addiction recovery and behavioral health services to identify current marketing needs.

11. May need to work some nontraditional work hours such as weekends, evenings, observed holiday
