Hotel Security (Part-Time Overnight) – Newport Hospitality Group – Hartford, CT


Job Description

Hotel Security is responsible to ensure the safety and protection of the physical property, personnel, guests and visitors of the Holiday Inn Hartford Downtown Area. Reports to the Manager on Duty.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Provide a visible security presence throughout the property while maintaining hospitality service standards, Smile when on-stage.
  • Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests
  • Awareness of persons entering, leaving or moving throughout the facility
  • Responds immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers. First aid response as needed
  • Always looking for potential safety or security hazards
  • Address suspicious persons or persons failing to follow hotel policies
  • Know/observes safety precautions, fire safety procedures and emergency action plans. Use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers
  • Assists Team members and guests as needed.
  • Operate and maintain transportation vehicles as needed with a focus on safety and customer courtesy
  • Communicate consistently throughout shift with front desk
  • Maintain all daily checklists, logs and other assigned paperwork
  • Perform minor maintenance or housekeeping tasks as requested
  • Position to start as Part-time (2-3 Shifts per week) but possible to increase to full time.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, 21 years or older
  • Prior security experience, ideally in the hospitality industry highly desirable
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts (11pm-6am) including weekends and/or holidays
  • Requires ability to communicate in a positive and service-oriented manner both orally and in writing to guests and members of the hotel Team
  • Able to lift 50 pounds infrequently
  • Requires ability to perform light to heavy physical labor: Lifting, Bending, Reaching, Stretching, Pushing and Pulling
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • CPR Training or certification desirable
  • CT Guard Card a plus but willing to consider others
