Assistant Director – Interior Architecture & Interior Design – InForm Design – Honolulu, HI

This position provides a significant opportunity for a dynamic person who has at least a BA in architecture/Interior Design, 5+ years experience servicing commercial clients and desire to take their career to a higher level. In this position you will join an established Honolulu Architecture and Interior Design firm as the number two person in a fast-paced Interior Design Studio environment. You will be expected to successfully contribute in the management of concurrent Client Project/Design project activities while also participating in the ongoing business management and growth of the Interior Design Studio.

You will also need:

  • exceptional Project Management and Organizational skills;
  • to show and provide complete proficiency, not just familiarity, with:
  • industry software including InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office applications. Working knowledge of Spexx an/or Studio software a Plus
  • preparing:
  • preliminary and final design presentation drawings,
  • construction drawings,
  • FF+E specifications,
  • Managing procurement and installation activities
  • the ability to render design in the form of drawings or illustrations using computer-assisted drafting systems (CAD, Revit), Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign or by hand
  • knowledge of suppliers and manufacturers commonly used in contract interior design work
  • experience working collaboratively with a multi-discipline design team including contractors, architects and engineers
  • strong knowledge and ability in office space planning and furniture systems and able to develop and prepare furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish floor plans, interior elevations and finish schedules

Core markets are hospitality, workplace, restaurant, retail, education, healthcare, and government with a rare residential design project. Our expectation is that you will have the desire, ability, and skills to participate in marketing opportunities including building, maintaining and expanding client relationships will be an important part of your responsibilities.
