RESIDENT LIFE SUPERVISOR – Campbell County Health – Gillette, WY

Works under the supervision of the Legacy Director of Nursing. Responsible for coordinating Activities, Transportation, Front Office, Salon, and volunteer resources to efficiently provide services to enhance the psychosocial well-being of residents. Ensures regulatory compliance in Activities, Transportation, and visitation. Coordinates the resident/family experience survey process, and provides direct resident relations and advocacy services in conjunction with the interdisciplinary care team. The Supervisor is reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values, and continually works towards the pursuit of service excellence for Campbell County Health.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Oversees and provides direction to resident life services, which includes but are not limited to Activities, Transportation, front office, salon, visitor screening, resident-family visits (in event of visitor restrictions), fundraisers, and events.
  • Oversees staff in Activities, Transportation, Front Office, and Salon. Monitors standards of behavior, adherence to policy and procedure, job performance, and service excellence. Performs discipline as indicated per policy.
  • Works in conjunction with CCH Volunteer Coordinator to arrange volunteer assignments at Legacy. Ensures volunteers abide by CCH standards of behavior, service excellence, and relevant policy and procedure.
  • Schedules or oversees the scheduling of resident appointments in or out of community and arranges transportation schedule. Maximizes use of transportation resources for efficacy and efficiency. When indicated, the Supervisor is also responsible for scheduling visits between residents and family (ie, during visitor restrictions).
  • Intervenes in difficult situations regarding patients and families of patients. Performs de-escalation in difficult situations.
  • Develops and maintains good public relations with the community, businesses, staff, and physicians through participation in community organizations, speaking engagements, and participation in community activities as requested
  • Serves on Legacy Advisory Board and Resident Council as needed. Serves on other teams/committees as assigned by DON or Administrator.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalency. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

Licensure: None

Certification Required: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.

Experience: At least two years’ experience working with the public, preferably in the health care field

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Fine motor skills for typing, basic knowledge of primary computer programs, and ability to learn new computer concepts.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal skills, organizational skills, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills required. Demonstration of excellent customer service skills and attitude a must. Ability to maintain neutrality while considering multiple aspects of a problem/situation. Must be able to relate well to people from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and various levels of education. Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to use appropriate body mechanics in lifting and/or transporting equipment. May require standing or walking for long periods of time.

Essential Mental Abilities: Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and medical terminology. Able to read, write and understand English. Excellent coping and stress management skills as well as ability to prioritize work and work relatively independently. Must be able to relate well to people from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and various levels of education.

Essential Sensory Requirements: Sufficient vision, hearing and speech to perform duties

Hours of Work: At least 40 hours per week with flexibility required.
