Overview

The Clinical Program Manager supervises and trains therapists providing pre- and post-permanency clinical services to families and children in the District of Columbia. This position does not carry a caseload. As the team leader, this seasoned professional ensures program staff deliver exceptional, culturally competent high-quality counseling and support services. The Clinical Program Manager also maintains contract compliance through program reporting and other administrative tasks.

The Clinical Program Manager is a newly created full-time position that reports to the Director of Clinical Services. The position is currently primarily remote and as the current health crisis improves, the position will shift to in-person at the Washington, DC office with regular opportunities for telework.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities


  • Clinical Supervision & Training.
    Provide regular clinical supervision as well as train therapists and interns in the agency’s approach to therapy, treatment planning, and documentation.

  • Case Oversight.
    In collaboration with the intake worker, ensure that new cases are promptly assigned, and that each therapist has a manageable caseload.

  • Performance Management.
    Complete annual evaluations of each therapist in accordance with agency policy and procedures. Provide administrative supervision to ensure that clinical case records are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.

  • Clinical Programming.
    Implement clinical activities in conjunction with clinical and program staff, as well as community partners to offer an organized model for clinical operations.

  • Community Outreach.
    Maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and attend community events to promote the services available through Adoptions Together.

  • Reporting & Contract Management
    . Maintain and report required data and narratives. Supervises contract management and adherence to ensure the timeliness and quality of all contract deliverables.

  • Program Development.
    Contribute to clinical portions of grant funding and contract development initiatives. Participate in the clinical aspects of new program development in accordance with the principles, policies, and culture of the agency.

  • Program Management & Compliance.
    Develop, implement, and review relevant clinical policies, procedures, and practice standards. Set, monitor, and ensure compliance with relevant licensing, funding, regulating and accrediting standards as related to clinical practice.


Education & Experience

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Social work (MSW) or related field.
  • Professional license (LICSW, LCSW-C) to provide independent clinical services and supervision to social workers and other professionals seeking clinical certification in the District of Columbia at the time of hire.
  • Experience providing therapy for children, youth, parents, and families with histories of trauma, attachment disruptions, adoption, guardianship, and involvement with the child welfare system.


Preferred:

  • Three years of clinical supervisory experience in a therapeutic setting preferred.
  • Certification in TF-CBT or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable.


Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Comprehensive understanding of adoption/permanency competent counseling.
  • Established ability to lead a team, provide clinical supervision, and train other professionals in clinical theory and practice.
  • Trained on a broad base of therapeutic modalities including evidence-based practices.
  • Proven ability to diffuse and manage client crises.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with diverse populations of clients.
  • Highly organized and experienced managing client information, case notes, and reporting using an Electronic Medical Record System.
  • Proven ability to adhere to contract deliverables and reporting standards.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and agency colleagues.
  • Ability to think and work independently, prioritize and problem solve.
