Salary Range:
$54,005.00 – $70,882.00 per year. This is an exempt (salaried) position.


Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for the job.


POSITION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

This Quality & Training Supervisor will be primarily focused on the supervision of the Quality & Training team within the Economic Services Division of DSS focused on quality and audits.

The position ensures that quality sampling for all eligibility programs is completed both timely and accurately.

Ensure all error trends are identified, reported out and actions taken to reduce risk of reoccurrence.

Serves as the main contact within the Economic Services Division for all eligibility audits and as such initiates the divisional response via coordinating meetings, assisting with the writing of and overseeing drafts of performance improvement documents and submitting final versions to upper management.

Follow up on all corrective action plans for eligibility to ensure all action items listed are completed timely.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of the Quality and Training Division in a particular department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Facilities training and policy interpretation for applicable local, State, and Federal programs.

Ensures applicable policies are adhered to in the issuance and redetermination of benefits through training, policy interpretation, hearings, and appeals.

Plans, directs, and coordinates staff involved in the completion of program activities.

Plans develops and oversees division wide training classes offered to managers/supervisors and/or employees.

Solicits feedback and input from stakeholders in order to provide consultation and recommend necessary intervention services.

Develops, conducts and evaluates technical training sessions and programs.

Provides training recommendations.

Monitors, evaluates, or records training activities or program effectiveness.

Assesses training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.

Develops alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.

Organizes and develops, or obtains, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.

Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.

Evaluates analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved.

Identifies quality problems and recommends solutions.

Participates in internal assessments and audits as required.

Provides supervision to new hires during training period including facilitating personnel matters.

Completes monthly and quarterly program reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Experience:
Five years of related experience.


Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

Equivalent Experience for Education Accepted? Yes

Licenses and Certifications: North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a County Operator’s Permit.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years’ experience completing and/or overseeing eligibility audits and/or quality sampling.

Previous experience and strong knowledge of Medicaid programs, including Adult Medicaid and Family & Children’s Medicaid.

Previous experience and strong working knowledge of the NCFAST system.

Microsoft Office platform.

Adult learning theories and of training and development principles, practices and methods.

E-learning and other technological solutions and the ability to effectively use these platforms to develop and deliver training.
