What does this role entail?
- Provide leadership support to all programmatic, administrative and clinical supervision functions, to include direct oversight of all early childhood mental health interventions. Manages key internal and external relationships while fostering relationships and compliance with federal, state and local partnerships and agencies to sustain and grow ECHM growth in support of YMCA Community Support Services strategic objectives.
- Provide direct supervision and support to program staff and interns including recruitment, hiring, training, coaching and conducting annual evaluations Manage budgets for I-EMHC contracts/ grants
- Design and implement tools, trainings, policies, procedures, guidelines and oversight procedures to support fidelity of Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and staff’s attainment of essential competencies across CSS
- Make policy and program recommendations to improve systems function at the local, state, and federal levels
- Provide clinical quality assurance through monitoring of clinical records/ data collection to meet program standards, goals and targets; review and approve all clinical notes and program documentation
- Participate in agency decision-making, program planning, policy development and administrative oversight related to all I-ECMH services; lead efforts to sustain, expand and grow I-ECMH services.
- Coordinate with R&E team to ensure accurate reporting and usage of ETO system; lead continuous quality improvement and program development I-ECMH services.
- Assist in crisis/ clinical level situations with service participants, as needed
- Actively participate and work cooperatively with interagency teams, planning committees, and community-based work groups.
- Represent I-ECMH best practices with colleagues, practitioners, agencies, community organizations, and families on the services available through the formal service delivery systems; provide content expertise and/or recommendations to programs, agencies, legislative bodies, service systems related to I-ECMH via trainings, conference/ seminar presentations, workshops, expert testimony, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date on current and future trends in infant/young child development and infant mental health practice; attend professional development seminars, conferences, and courses to further knowledge in the field.
- Work collaboratively with other Childcare Resource Service and Community Support Services departments, YMCA branches, and community agencies including attending various network/collaboration meetings.
What do I need to bring do the table?
- Master’s Degree in social work, behavioral science or related field required
- Must be licensed as an LMFT, LCSW, professional clinical counselor, psychologist, child and adolescent psychiatrist, or similar field.
- Endorsed as an Infant or Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years post-license experience to provide clinical supervision per the Board of Behavioral Science requirement and must be in full compliance with all continuing education requirements.
- Minimum of five (5) years work experience providing services to young children (ages 0-5 years) and their families required; experience working with young children with developmental disabilities and their families preferred.
- Knowledge of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (I-ECMH), social emotional development and behavior support strategies required
- Organizational leadership experience and ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Experience developing and implementing, policies / procedures for I-ECMH programs supporting relationship-based work, tracking progress systems, data collection, and data bases for continuous improvement
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering effective learning interventions as part of conferences, workshops, university courses and other opportunities to educate on effective I-ECMH principles and practices.
- Experiences advocating for policy, program, and/or system improvements.
- Ability to work independently and work as part of a team to accomplish project goals and meet deadlines.
- Must possess the ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends as needed for training, events and presentations
- Must be able to travel throughout San Diego County regularly and occasionally within and outside California
- CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
- American Red Cross
- American Heart Association
- American Safety & Health Institute
