Medical Assistant – Delaware Valley Community Health – Philadelphia, PA

• Register new patients and prepare the patient chart
• Checks patients into their appointments
• Call patients to remind them of their appointments the next day
• Checks vital signs, takes chief complaints, properly and correctly documents in the patient’s electronic health record, and prepares patient to see provider
• Participates in patient care teams and applicable meetings
• Completes patient referrals
• Administers Immunizations
• Calls in prescriptions to local pharmacies with the authorization of the provider
• Takes medical history on the patient
• Draws blood when requested
• Performs blood sugar tests when necessary
• Assists with exams, treatments, and obtaining reports from other medical providers as needed
• Orders and maintains supplies and equipment in examination rooms
• Completes other duties as requested by the Provider, Team Leader, or Health Center Manager

• High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
• Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant Program REQUIRED
• Experience in a medical office setting PREFERRED
• Bilingual in Spanish PREFERRED
