Job Description

The Strategist, On-Premise Operations & Commercial Capabilities is responsible for driving field team content for a bev-alc program, leveraging her/his network and experience. Content includes (but is not limited to) education seminars, internal training sessions, digital lessons, and articles related to the commercial and operational facets the spirit business.

Other tasks may include leading trade-related initiatives with the team, client insight sessions, brainstorming within the agency, and developing program plans for evolution.

The Strategist, On-Premise Operations & Commercial Capabilities reports directly to the Director, Culture & Capabilities or VP but may also be assigned tasks by other team members or the agency’s leadership team. This role will work in partnership with other members of the Culture & Capabilities team and may require some client engagement.

As with all Enthuse team members, the Strategist, On-Premise Operations & Commercial Capabilities must follow the policies described in the agency employee handbook, attend all internal meetings, and professionally conduct themselves at all times while working to instill a positive work environment at the firm.

A successful Strategist, On-Premise Operations & Commercial Capabilities shows proficiency in completing the following activities:

  • Able to translate and understand client’s business challenges and create plans to solve or improve business performance
  • Build and maintain superior client, peer, agency, and team relationships
  • Ensure excellent customer service levels with agency touchpoints
  • Provides a continuous flow of critical learnings and recommendations that improve the agency’s business, leading to a closer partnership with the client
  • Participate in and lead brainstorming sessions
  • Identify “breakthrough” concepts and ideas that deliver to the business needs of the client
  • Create documents and presentations to articulate concepts
  • Develop case studies
  • Craft program reports supporting communications plans
  • Create work plans and timelines, meeting deadlines assigned by management or clients
  • Cross-mentorship with internal team
  • Ability to “train trainers” with engagement content
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Represent agency at meetings or conferences
  • Submit expense reimbursement forms as appropriate
  • Submit vacation/leave requests as appropriate
  • Understand travel booking process to make own travel arrangements according to agency policy
  • Independently travel to markets to check in on teams, conduct site checks, and meet with vendors

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in the spirits or hospitality industries
  • Expert understanding and experience in cocktail culture and/or hospitality industry operations
  • Strong background of beverage sales and/or purchasing for an on-premise account
  • Known network of influential industry professionals nationally or in a major market
  • Excellent knowledge of liquor laws, regulations, and rules
  • Confident and outgoing with strong presentation and communication abilities
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to tailor communications for a variety of environments
  • Deep understanding of market and industry trends
  • Social media fluency
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel on an ad hoc basis, including nights and weekends required
  • Desire for mentorship and willingness to mentor others, contribute to team culture
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish-speaking) a plus
