The Senior Product Manager will help drive new product development and renovation toward a sustainable CPG future, that elevates both retail and food service protein and dairy categories.


What you’ll do:

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing Tofurky’s product planning and creation process from concept through commercialization. Reporting to the SVP of Strategic Growth, the Senior Product manager will be charged with contributing to and executing the commercialization strategy, driving structural documentation and acting as the product owner/lead internally & externally.

As a keystone member of the innovation team you will manage specialty individual contributors that are aligned to a product concept as it moves through innovation or renovation lifecycle. You will be responsible for crafting and shaping the business strategy into functional product requirements which includes orchestrating hand-offs within each commercialization phase gate. Phase gates may include market research, rapid prototyping, benchtop validation, scale-up and trials, shelf life and food safety as well as go-to-market strategy.

In this role you will be well-versed in consumer centricity, but also demonstrate the technical expertise to problem solve with R&D engineers and have the business savvy to achieve KPIs. Positioned at the intersection of a variety of functions you’ll also have strong communication skills and diplomacy. Ultimately, you’ll ensure innovation and renovation pipelines are being executed on-time and existing products are being continuously improved.


Responsibilities include:

  • Represents the voice of the customer channeling briefs and competitive reviews from marketing.
  • Transforms and changes culture toward Innovation-first enterprise strategy.
  • Generates success; while deploying inside-out innovation methods.
  • Manages a roster of insights and external innovation contributors.
  • Responsible for oversight of all commercialization work including innovation, renovation, prioritization of projects & critical non-project work (roadmap, budgets, process standardization).
  • Understands CPG manufacturing processes and capabilities and is able to build briefs with material and feature sets reflective of required target.
  • Manages domain experts for Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Sales or Co-Manufacturers as they relate to product life-cycle management.
  • Manage early product design, approved product development and go-to-market execution; facilitating readiness and ensuring teams can successfully accomplish objectives on time.
  • Decisive on whether a concept continues to the next phase of the product innovation lifecycle.
  • Identifies road-blocks, forecasts cross functional brainstorming and solutions for process challenges.
  • Collaborates closely with external supplier partners to represent our company’s best interests.
  • Provides information for management by preparing analyses, reports, and presentations.
  • Facilitates Innovation workshops


What skills and education you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred. MBA a plus
  • Relevant experience in program, project, or product management
  • Solid understanding, or quick study of food industry standards of quality & food safety
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high intensity environment
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in design thinking process and approaches
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and focus
  • The ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
  • A data-driven mindset with a strong attention to detail
