Service Technician – CM Mechanical – Piscataway, NJ

JOB SUMMARY

Mechanical Technicians needed to repair and maintain railcars (trains) in a shop environment. Must be proficient in using hand/power tools and ability to read schematics. Auto/Diesel/Aircraft Mechanics are encouraged to apply. The site is located in Piscataway, NJ.

WORK SCHEDULE: 1st shift (7 am – 5 pm) | 3-day weekend off

PAY: $19-21/hr + Benefits

DUTIES

• Assisting senior technicians with diagnostic checks and symptom analysis; identify malfunctions and

• Repair or replace defective equipment parts; assist with mechanical installations.

• Cleaning and lubricating gears, shafts, bearings, and other machinery parts.

• Install electrical parts and hardware in test equipment, using soldering equipment and hand tools

• Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality.

REQUIREMENTS

• Reliable transportation.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to successfully pass the pre-screening process including drug and alcohol tests, criminal, employer, and driving background checks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work in a shop environment

• Wear safety and PPE gear as well as follow all safety guidelines

• Stand, climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and able to push/pull
