Assist Physicians/Physician Extenders in patient care
Triage patients – vital signs, patient history review, medication review – entering data into an EMR
Procedures to include but not limited to blood draws, finger sticks, PT/INR, urine dips, EKG’s, quick strep, ear lavage, breathing treatments, spirometry, urine pregnancy testing and COVID-19 testing.
Assisting in mole removal, toenail removal, I&D of cyst, and skin tag removal
Blood pressure checks; injections to include but not limited to Toradol, Rocephin, Kenalog, Phenergan, Testosterone, DepoProvera, and allergy shots; adult and childhood vaccines
Relaying test results and/or instructions to patients/family members; diabetic education; cholesterol lowering education
Phone triage as appropriate, e.g. chest pain, shortness of breath
Obtaining prior authorization for medications from insurance companies.
Clean exam rooms to maintain infection control; restock exam rooms; empty biohazard as scheduled
Individual duties may include indigent program paperwork, ordering medications, ordering lab supplies, patient diabetes education
- At least 1 year of experience working in a health care center.
