Manager, Scheduling, Supply Chain Management

The Manager is responsible for the production scheduling, synchronous movement and on time flow of material through all production units.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan operations to optimize customer service and delivery metrics, maximize shipments, and meet inventory goals
• Manage the production scheduling function for the Casters, Hot Mill, Picklers, Tandem Mill, Continuous Heat Treat Line, Hot Dip Line, Temper Mill, and Rewind Lines
• Oversee the slab application process
• Develop tactical production plans, by multiple product groupings, that may range in time horizon from 1 day to 6 weeks, closely monitor progress, and take actions to maintain adherence to plan
• Develop monthly shipping plan, closely monitor progress, and take actions to maintain adherence to plan
• Collaborate with plate planning to execute casting plan for plate division. Tactically adjust as needed
• Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement activities
• Manage and develop a group of scheduling planners and hourly schedulers

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business related field.
• 5+ years of relevant steel industry experience.
• Exceptional Excel skills (including pivot tables, linking of data/files, diagnosis of V-lookups)
• Strong analytical and data acquisition skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with different personalities across functions and organization levels
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to achieve desired results

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management/Operations
• At least 2 years of experience in managing direct reports
• SQL programming exposure or ability to use Microsoft Access to acquire data needed in problem solving.
