FOOD SERVICE TEAM LEAD – Morningside Ministries – Boerne, TX

We are seeking a positive, compassionate, customer service-focused team member for the Food Service Team Lead position. Prepares food for residents, guests, and employees, and maintains high standards of quantity food production. Trains new food service workers.

  • Trains new food service employees in principles of dining service;
  • Supervise food service employees; ensure that sanitary standards are being met and food temperatures are being documented on a daily basis;
  • Maintains sanitary conditions as required by Metropolitan Health District regulations by daily or regular cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and equipment;
  • Prepares dining room and serving line for service prior to meals & activities: removes soiled linen and dishes to proper areas, following procedures to guard against cross-contamination; cleans and sanitizes beverage and soup bars, makes coffee and tea; assembles salad bar items for use; sets tables, refills condiment holders; cleans carpet and chairs as needed; stocks waiter storage areas; cleans all areas daily or regularly as posted on cleaning schedules; operates copier to copy menu for the day;
  • Serves residents, guests, administration, and other staff according to department specifications; maintains courtesy at all times;
  • Performs duties associated with cleaning after meals: dish washing by standard operational guidelines, including but not limited to, per-scraping, racking, observing machines for proper functioning, temperature, and chemicals, checking finished dishes for cleanliness prior to putting away; cleaning dish machine, sweeping, mopping, cleaning walls and counters, equipment, etc; remove garbage; cleans main dining room, employees dining room and activity room (when used), according to standard operational guidelines;
  • Washes pots, pans, meat slicer, food processors, and other heavy equipment and performs other utilitarian tasks in the kitchen;
  • Training and Experience: Some dining room or food service experience is desirable.
  • Certifications/Licenses: None required.
  • Job Knowledge: Should be familiar with basic food preparation tasks and should know how to maintain a sanitary work area.
