Stewardship of Our Resources

Responsible for directing the organization’s accounting functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly closing schedule.
- Facilitate and complete close procedures.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Assist with preparation of cost report information.
- Other projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting
- Experience in healthcare preferred
Ability to read, analyze, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write policies and procedures that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
This position does not require hands-on delivery of care, however, incumbent must demonstrate understanding of how a patient’s chronological and developmental age influences his/her need for adaptations related to his/her abilities.
