Accounting Manager, Policies & Procedures – Discord – San Francisco, CA

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to develop policies, processes, procedures, and project management various projects. This is a new role because of growth. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing Discord’s accounting positions that will provide accounting expertise to the various departments and throughout the company and be involved in audit preparation and special projects. What you’ll be doing Perform technical research/documentation on complex matters and effectively communicate accounting issues to business partners, ensuring that relevant accounting issues are identified, debated, resolved, and documented in accordance with U.S. GAAP including validation/verification of appropriate accounting recorded in the ledger Perform technical accounting research/documentation on recurring complex analysis (e.g. impairment, segments, etc.) Maintain global accounting policies and procedures including of identification of policy revisions to ensure accurate and consistent application of US GAAP throughout the Company Support technical accounting treatment with external auditors Provide periodic technical accounting trainings to the accounting organization and to other business partners as necessary Respond to technical accounting inquiries from finance/accounting colleagues and external auditors. Communicate internal accounting policies and accounting updates to finance organization and external auditors, special projects as required Support the set up of international expansion on ERP system and communicate with local CPA firms related to month end matters and statutory compliance Support monthly close related to internal subsidiaries and consolidation Lead special team projects related to system implementations, process changes, M&A transactions, ad hoc projects Lead documentation of internal control matrixes and partner with cross functional departments as needed Support annual and quarterly audits as needed What you should have Bachelor’s degree in accounting 4+ years of public accounting experience and 3+ years of industry experience Technical accounting/accounting policy knowledge CPA license Strong project management skills and highly organized individual Benefits and Perks Medical insurance including Health, Dental, Vision  18 paid holidays  Unlimited sick days  Parental Leave and fertility benefits  Supported-employee clubs and Employee Resource Groups  Commuter Contributions of $270 a month (pretax)  Daily lunches and unlimited snacks  Monthly gym and fitness stipend  About Us Friends, coworkers, gamers, nerds, moms, dads, engineers, designers, marketers, support.
