CDL Class A Driver/Operator
River City Construction, Inc. is looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our Driver Operator. Our Driver Operator will travel to job sites all over Eastern North Carolina & Virginia and up into Northern Virginia. The candidate will be driving a manual tractor pulling a lowboy trailer with equipment. This Driver Operator will be required to haul the equipment AND operate he equipment for that job site. This candidate must also be willing to work Storm Trouble when crews need assistance during such times.
Responsibilities
- Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites. Including: loading, unloading, properly securing, etc.
- Ability to operate all equipment hauled. (i.e.: track machines, log skidders, dull dozers.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
- Ability to safely pull lowboy
Requirements
- Valid unrestricted Class A CDL
- Valid DOT medical Card
- Ability to drive manual tractor
- Ability to work where needed/when needed.
- Storm travel
- Ability to work AND DRIVE in all weather conditions
- Clean DMV report & Clearinghouse reports
- At least 2 years experience.
Other requirements include, but are not limited to: Ability to work 10+ hour days, overtime, on-call, storm, ability to lift and/or maneuver 50 lbs., ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, ability to withstand all weather conditions during day or night time hours, ability to climb, bend, crouch, as needed for loading/unloading and operating of equipment.
