Job Summary:

PENTA is seeking a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the schedule, budget, scope of work and business goals of assigned projects, delivering the results and meeting specific expectations.

The ideal candidate should have minimum 10+ years’ experience engineering and leadership/supervisory responsibility in Industrial Plants.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation of proposals; writes scope, develops competitive pricing together with Chief Engineers; selects with input from Chief Engineers, the appropriate team members; develops preliminary schedule.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical execution of a large-scale project or multiple smaller projects.
  • Develops the project scope of work, defining the project scope of services, technical discipline level of effort estimates and pricing.
  • Defines the project organization and works with Department Managers and Managers of offices worldwide to identify the resources required to support the Project organization.
  • After project award, creates a Project Procedures Manual; executes project work plans accordingly and makes revisions as appropriate to meet changing project needs and requirements. Responsible for the development of a project schedule. Establishes staffing requirements, communicates project objectives as well as budgetary requirements to the assigned project team.
  • Coordinates flow of information between design team and client to ensure that client objectives are met during each phase of the project.
  • Acts as liaison between the client and designers, engineers, and other project team members; identifies problems and resolves issues that arise in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintains data comparing progress on the project with established objectives and the budget. Communicates the status of the project in project team meetings; identifies changes in the Scope of Work and prepares change orders in a timely manner.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by the project team before passing to client; ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Complies with and helps enforce quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Manages to achieve financial goals set for projects.
  • Understands basic financial models, P/L and cost-to-complete projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Understands PENTA’s pricing model(s) and billing procedures.
  • Forecasts revenue, costs, profit margins, and staff utilization.
  • Makes sure project legal documents (contracts, change orders & etc.) are completed, signed, and properly filed.
  • Reviews time postings for accuracy and approves expense reports for project team members in a conscientious and timely manner.
  • Manages the project budget; tracks and reports project revenue, labor costs and expenses on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition and is responsible for timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Follows up with clients regarding change orders and when necessary, unpaid invoices.
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and resource utilization.
  • Conducts regular status meetings with the project team and holds status meetings with the client.
  • Communicates relevant project information to management.
  • Mitigates team conflict and communications problems and resolves project issues in a timely manner.
  • Grows long-term client business relationships.
  • Identifies business development and “add-on” project service opportunities relating a specific project or client.
  • Domestic and international travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Electrical)
  • PE preferred or pursuit of PE expected
  • 10+ years’ experience engineering and leadership/supervisory responsibility in Industrial Plants
  • Knowledge of professional engineering techniques, calculations, design concepts and company procedures and quality criteria
  • Familiarity with reference materials and where/how to find information needed in professional work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and process calculation software.
  • High comfort level with technology and computer software
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills; including written and verbal communication
  • Good understanding of problem-solving approaches and techniques.
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient manner
  • Good analytical skills with ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate work with other staff members
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient manner
