POSITION: Guest Support Professional

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor

STATUS: Hourly – Full Time Temporary

RATE: 9.60 – 5 Month Assignment

OVERVIEW: : Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisorand the general guidance of the

Guest Services Supervisor, the Guest Support Professional will be responsible to assist Coalition Guests, Staff, Visitors and Volunteers in various capacities while promoting the safety of other guests, staff, volunteers, visitors and members of the community. The position of GSP requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment and adaptability in order to effectively uphold Coalition Values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· The Guest Support Professional must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.

· Previous experience in customer service and some understanding of the homeless population.

· Must be proficient in written communication.

· The ability to effectively serve a very diverse population with aptitude in the areas of conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem solving.

· Able to lift 30 lbs. to stock supplies, receive donations and move property.

· Must be willing to work flexible hours to include some evenings, weekends and emergency coverage.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Service our Guest needs by providing access to hygiene items, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc.

· Assist as needed by receiving donations, retrieving property, assisting in meal serve times, etc.

· Provide appropriate assistance and/or information to visitors, volunteers and donors.

· Report any safety, security and facility concerns to appropriate staff and document if warranted.

· Conduct regular rounds as assigned and maintain radio communications at all times while on duty.

· Perform routine room and locker checks.

· Responsible for the cleaning of bed areas/rooms to prepare for new intakes.

· Complete appropriate logs for guest belongings.

· Address crisis situations if needed and contact appropriate support. Such as other staff, emergency medical or law enforcement.

· Submit accurate written documentation as per agency policy in a timely fashion.

· Communicate with guests and other staff on an ongoing basis.

· Coordinate with guests to accomplish special projects, chores and facility upkeep.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

· Complete assignments and housekeeping duties daily as instructed by immediate supervisor.

· Move property and donations up to 30 lbs. as outlined by agency policy.

· Monitor assigned area as directed by immediate supervisor.

· Conduct “after hours intake” for CERS VETS program if needed outside of regular intake hours.

· Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

· Perform job duties in assigned areas as directed by immediate supervisor.

· Perform other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.
