Shalom House, has 1 full time and 1 part time job openings for Residential Support Worker II (RSWII) to work in our S. Portland program. This program works with individuals who have both severe and persistent mental illness as well as significant medical and self-care issues. This is a great opportunity to combine use of CNA type skills and working with individuals living with mental illness at the same time. You would be joining a dynamic team of mental health professionals to provide psycho-social rehabilitation services in a variety of different programs. Residential Support Worker II are responsible for assisting residents in carrying out skills of daily living and in utilization of community mental health supports as well as having knowledge of and assisting with the action steps of our residents current Individual Treatment Plans. Other duties include medication administration and/or supervision, overseeing and maintaining physical plant including housekeeping, maintenance, safety and supplies.

Minimum Requirements for Residential Support Worker II position: *CNA’s encouraged to apply. High school diploma or GED with some experience in mental health work. Valid Driver’s License required for day and evening shifts(Awake Overnights do not need a driver’s license). Residential Support Workers II must complete Mental Health Technician I coursework within 12 months of employment with Shalom paying for all needed training and a .50 cent an hour raise upon completion of certification. Ability to be proficient in reading, writing and taking direction. Ability to set limits, provide role modeling for residents and be comfortable in teaching skills of daily living.
