Patrol Officer/Deputy Sheriff – Manitowoc County – Manitowoc, WI

Enforces the laws of the State of Wisconsin and the ordinances of Manitowoc County. Ensures the constitutional rights of all citizens within the scope of authority. Carries out department functions, prevents criminal activity and provides daily services to the community.

Operates law enforcement vehicle in a proactive and reactive mode. Proactive patrol establishes a police presence and reactive patrol in a response to community needs; maintains good public relations.

Note – Current law enforcement officers in a full-time position will not be required to take the written exam to be considered in the process

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED AT HIRE:
At least 30 college credits are required at time of hire with 60 college credit required within 5 year of employment. Prior law enforcement experience preferred. Applicants must be certifiable at the time of hire. The ability to read, interpret, understand and follow directions (department policy and procedures, State statutes), write detailed concise written reports, use measuring instruments (radar, PBT), and computer resources is required. Manitowoc County reserves the right to consider candidates whose education and work experience proves comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.
