Driver – SolvChem, Inc. – Pearland, TX

Role and Responsibilities

· Follow all safety regulations and precautions

· Delivery of products locally, however, maybe called upon for out of state/overnight deliveries from time to time.

· Performs all pre-trip and post-trip inspections on power units and trailers, including regulatory compliance requirements, and completes proper documentation of inspections

· Ensure management is aware of maintenance or repair related issues with power units and trailers

· Ensure management is aware of impending dates of expiration on assigned power units and trailers

· Upkeep, cleanliness, and driver maintenance of assigned vehicle

· Loading and unloading of products on trailer

· Adherence to all company policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations on the proper documentation requirements of transporting hazardous materials

· Required to complete and submit all driver and delivery paperwork in a timely manner and legible

· As directed by management, driver is to assist the warehouse in all phases of plant operations, including but not limited to loading product on trailers, forklift operations, cleaning, and maintenance

· Compliance with all drug screens or breath alcohol tests as mandated by company policy and state or federal regulations

· Adhere to company’s Driver Handbook policies and procedures including journey management and security

· Act as company liaison and in represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times

· Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Required: GED or High School Diploma

· Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement

· Records of DOT training received in the last three years

· HazMat tank trailer endorsement (when required)

· 2 years tractor trailer experience, in chemical industry preferred

· Current medical card and transporting hazardous materials certificate

· TWIC Card (if required to load/unload at secure facilities)

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions. This position is required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) including but not limited to full face respirator, chemical protection suite, steel-toed boots, rubber gloves, face shield, apron, etc. This position must pass an annual respirator fit test. Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise and hazardous chemicals on a daily basis. May require safety equipment and/or precautions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
