Full Time Driver/Serviceman – Omaha Pumping – Gretna, NE

Omaha Pumping has an immediate opening for a full-time driver / serviceman.

Omaha Pumping is a full service commercial liquid waste removal company. We have been a family owned and operated business for over 65 years. Our company services mostly residential septic customers, commercial restaurant/hotel clients and commercial auto and truck service areas. We provide service to residential clients in Omaha and its surrounding areas as well as commercial clients currently in Iowa & South Dakota.

The Service Technician Position assists in the day to day operations of our full service commercial liquid waste removal company. The Service Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Navigates both city and outlying areas effectively to locate service locations in a timely manner.

  • Maneuvers and gains access to lines and positions hoses.

  • Completes the service using a vacuum pumping or the jetting hose.

  • Completes invoices and collects payments.

  • Before leaving job site makes sure area has been cleaned up and conducts a final inspection to make sure all openings have been closed and covers are secured. If any cover or lid is missing bolts or cannot be properly secured, informs customer or the office if the customer is unavailable immediately.

  • Complete driver’s logs and reports such as, waste manifests, work orders, and time sheets

  • Completes a daily inspection of any vehicles being operated.

  • Ensures all safety requirements are met before performing each job.

  • Ensures safety equipment and MSDS sheets are available and in good working order.

  • Dumps the waste at an approved dumping facility, insurance that all local rules and regulations for dumping must be followed.

  • Ensures the tank is cleaned at an approved dumping facility.

  • Assists in maintaining the shop.

  • Assists in maintenance

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of 9 years of driving experience with an acceptable driving record. Heavy Truck orTractor trailer driving experience would be an advantage.

  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Class B CDL license withing in 90 days of employment.

  • Mechanical maintenance experience would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

  • Must have a working knowledge and the manual dexterity to use basic tools such as screwdriver, wrench, hammer, etc.

  • A basic knowledge on how septic systems, grease traps, and pump stations is not required but would be an advantage.

  • Must be trainable on how to operate vacuum truck pump and jetting systems as well as all related safety procedures.

  • This position requires some overnight travel. This can be more than one nights at time. Expected travel is between 10-15% of the work. Expenses for meals and lodging are paid by the company.

  • This is a physically demanding position.

  • Candidates need to be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be in good physical health.

  • Grasping, pushing, and pulling of hose, squatting, bending, and twisting are all necessary movements to safely and effectively manage vacuum pumping and jetting systems. .

  • Lifting is required in removing lids systems or grates from pits.

  • Must have good handwriting, good interpersonal skills and a professional manner.

  • Must have math skills necessary to calculate invoice charges and sales tax when necessary in the field.


PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING

  • Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with 9 years of experience

  • Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Department of transportation

  • Must complete an acceptable drug screening.

  • Must have an acceptable criminal record free of any felonies or crimes relating to drugs, violence or weapons.


EMPLOYMENT STATUS & COMPENSATION

  • This is a full time hourly position.

  • Starting wage is $15.00/hour with a salary/performance review after 90 days.

  • A hiring bonus of $1000.00 is available after 12 months of successful employment.
