Director, Corporate Development – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina – Durham, NC

The Director, Corporate Development will be responsible for coordinating and executing the growth of the organization through mergers & acquisitions, corporate venture capital investments, partnerships and joint ventures. Transactions will range across size and stages.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Plans and executes strategies to meet organization’s inorganic long-range goals including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic business alliances.
• Identifies and analyzes possible mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and provides recommendations to senior leadership as to their potential impact on the organization.
• Focuses on the key metrics and KPIs that will accelerate the growth aspirations of the organization including revenue, members, service and tech capabilities and operating expense reductions
• Develops relationships with healthcare industry investment bankers, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and management of potential targets and partners.
• Drives end to end process including identification of potential targets, the negotiation process, execution of transaction and integration planning at a corporate level. Will partner with business unit owners, finance, legal and other SMEs to ensure benefits of transactions are realized
• Leads and manages a staff of M&A, corporate venture capital and corporate integration experts.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
• 5 years of experience leading teams and/or directly managing staff.
