Dental Appeal Specialist Supervisor Career Opportunity: Employee

The Dental Appeal Specialist Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Appeal Specialist Team and their daily workflows. Weekly reporting on denials, adjustments, and monthly audits to the Leadership Team. Assisting Appeal team with their daily activities of identify any unpaid claims and submitting additional information to the dental plans for claims to be reconsidered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies delinquent accounts, aging periods, and payment resources
  • Contacting patients for additional insurance information and resubmitting dental clams to appropriate dental payer.
  • Reviewing Explanation of Benefits and patient history for accurate reimbursement and discounts by contracted managed care companies.
  • Research and processes all rejected claims and resubmits with corrected information.
  • Assists with processing insurance & patient refunds.
  • Processes insurance related correspondence and responding timely to inquiries.
  • Follow up with insurance companies ensuring that claims are paid on a timely basis by monitoring aging reports and open claims reports.
  • Develops relationship with key personnel at the dental payers to obtain assistance with claim reconsiderations
  • Maintains Strick confidentiality
  • Performs all other duties as assigned; and,
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team and doctors – This is KEY!


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Daily Dental and medical billing experience
  • 1+ year of Managerial experience
  • In Depth Knowledge of Dental Medicaid and PPO claim adjudication
  • In Depth Knowledgeable with Dental Benefits and Verification of Coverages
  • In Depth Knowledge of legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Skilled with computer applications and fast typing.
  • Ability to communicate with internal operations, patients, and insurance companies on a collection matter in a courteous manner.
