Recruiter, Military Programs – Red River Computer Co. – Chantilly, VA

The Recruiter, Military Programs at Red River will develop and maintain Veteran and Military focused recruitment programs while sourcing, identifying, screening, and securing top talent for technical and non-technical positions and maintaining compliance to established regulations and company policies.

Primary Position Tasks:

Recruiting Responsibilities include :

Relationship Development

  • Proactively provide accurate and timely communications with hiring managers and candidates throughout the process
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with external recruiting partners
  • Develop and manage strong, effective working relationships with hiring managers and interviewers

Sourcing & Recruiting

  • Execute proactive and creative sourcing strategies
  • Work closely with Hiring Managers to understand specific needs and requirements
  • Write job descriptions and manage all online postings, ensuring that we are refreshing weekly, adjusting language, and staying current on all key job sites
  • Attend weekly meetings to provide team with status hire information
  • Gather and report metrics and progress on a consistent basis
  • Review and select appropriate candidates for phone screens
  • Schedule and confirm all interviews through ATS
  • Solicit and document interviewer and candidate feedback throughout the interview process
  • Interface with HR and Compliance Teams and provide onboarding support as necessary
  • Solicit and follow up on referrals from potential talent and internal employees/recent hires
  • Participate in recruitment knowledge sharing and best practices

Candidate Screening and Tracking

  • Coordinate and conduct initial phone screens to ensure eligibility and suitability
  • Maintain records and notes in ATS (applicant tracking system) for candidates and requisitions

Beyond filling positions

  • A successful candidate should possess a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively and efficiently
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture

Military Liaison Responsibilities include

  • Develop and maintain Veteran and Military focused recruitment programs
  • Partner with military transition offices to provide services to transitioning military personnel and their spouses.
  • Manage Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship Program to place transitioning military personnel with the appropriate RR Team so that they can have hands-on experience working in a corporate environment.
  • Design and Facilitate training to HOH Fellows and other transitioning military personnel to help them to be successful with their transition.
  • Gather and support metrics and progress on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain database for military recruiting

TA Creative Communication Specialist Responsibilities include:

  • Help design TA training programs
  • Create presentation slides and other presentation materials, such as guides and handouts
  • Coach and mentor team members on presenting, public speaking, and corporate communications
  • Facilitate TA training

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in Recruitment / Talent Acquisition
  • Experience with Government Contracting
  • Knowledge of labor laws; experience implementing and driving hiring practices compliant with state and Federal regulations, including EEO, Affirmative Action, OFCCP
  • Strong relationship building and time management skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently
  • Experience with the use of applicant tracking software and HR databases, Workday preferred
  • Knowledge of military and veterans programs
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • The ability to coach and mentor, with a great attitude towards learning

Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:

  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Industry certification strongly desired

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

This position is an office position that requires sitting at a desk for multiple hours throughout the workday and frequent video calls and meetings.

This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.

Special Requirements:

10-15% travel may be required
