HR Generalist I – part-time – Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board – Fairfax, VA

Job Description: Under the supervision of the HR Manager, performs a variety of professional level HR functions including providing support to the processing of the various County sponsored leave programs, assisting with Employee Relations, Performance Management, Workplace Accommodations, and other HR Functions as needed, performing research and reporting, responding to basic inquiries related to the County’s Policies and Procedures and other HR related business processes. Supports and assists the HR team, while working collaboratively with HR team members. Performs related work as requested or required for the benefit of the department.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of principles of HR administration principles and practices

Basic knowledge of federal, state, and county laws, regulations and ordinances pertaining to human resources

Ability to use computer hardware and software

Ability to gather and analyze data

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with CSB employees, and other County officials

Ability to speak and write effectively

Preferred qualifications: Previous experience administering employee leave, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting an HR team.

Note: *This position may not exceed 1560 hours per calendar year. Individuals in this position are eligible for limited employee benefits (including medical, vision and dental insurance coverage) and participation in flexible spending programs, but not eligible to earn leave or receive holiday pay.

Pay: $26.06 – $34.75 per hour
