Deskside Technician – Arconic – Pittsburgh, PA

Arconic is seeking a Deskside Technician to be the first line IT support to all employees, contractors and the executive team in the Arconic Corporate Center in Pittsburgh PA. This position reports to the End User Computing and Executive Productivity Lead and provides trouble shooting to the end user and manages full cycle of IT assets at the corporate center. Position Profile : The primary purpose of the Deskside Technician , is to support all employees and contractors at the Arconic Corporate Center and manage the full life cycle of IT assets. The incumbent must communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of people, via face to face, over the phone, remote access, Teams and in writing.

Essential Functions: This position includes tactical execution; examples include but are not limited to:

  • Provide IT deskside support to all employees at the Arconic Corporate Center in Pittsburgh PA;
  • Provide White Glove IT services to all company executives;
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating system (Windows 10), network, mobile devices and across a range of applications;
  • Operate with Arconic IS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic BU/RU IT Standards;
  • Stage, configure, and deliver IT assets (e.g. personal computers and mobile phones);
  • Manage the inventory of IT assets in the building;
  • Support IT systems at the location;
  • Work across a global IT support team to share information and best practices.

Essential Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Systems and Technology — Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the practical application of systems and technology. This includes knowledge of systems architecture, hardware, operations and life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012) & standard application installation (MS Office 2013, Office 365 products), configuration and troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited organization
  • Have a minimum 2 years’ experience as an IT Professional in a business environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
