Molecular Biologist, Full Time – Plumas District Hospital – Quincy, CA

Overview:
Microbiology experience strongly preferred. Expected to preform Phlebotomy. Typically 12 hour shifts; typically variable shifts, mostly nights; some standby required. Job Summary: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs all the tests provided by the laboratory to obtain relevant clinical information for the physicians used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. In the absence of the laboratory assistant, s/he is also expected to assume their duties and responsibilities including phlebotomy. Due to the size of the hospital and patient load, the staff CLS must be able to work by him/herself and successfully accomplish minor administrative and technical duties normally taken care of by the Laboratory Manager. CLS also participates in other duties relevant to laboratory services, patient care, quality assurance, and the safety of hospital employees. Microbiology experience is strongly preferred. May assist with development / updating of job descriptions.

Qualifications:
Required Education: Must have applied for a valid California CLS license or (CGMBT) Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist Trainee

Preferred Education: As required by the California regulations for CLS licensure with Molecular biology background .

Experience: Previous Molecular laboratory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer keyboard skills necessary.
