Clerical Training and Development Coordinator

The Clerical Training and Development Coordinator will assist with creating, developing, implementing, and conducting a training and development program to enhance the knowledge and skills of clerical employees.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts and leads training and related developmental activities needed to support operational objectives for clerical staff.
  • Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials for clerical employees.
  • Ensures the scheduling and coordination of training for new clerical employees according to the training schedule.
  • Ensures that the clerical training and education programs maximize employee competency and outcomes.
  • Consults on organizational procedures by helping management to identify performance problems that can be solved through the training or remediation of the employee, suggesting alternative solutions, or providing appropriate learning experiences.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues related to training programs including, but not limited to Electronic Medical Records and Medical Practice Management systems (PCIS).
  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including individual, group discussion, simulations, and videos.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Assists in identifying qualified staff trainers to plan, develop, and present material as appropriate for on-site training.
  • Collaborates with leadership and clerical staff on workflow changes and process/policy improvement.
  • Assists employees and staff trainers when they are in the field.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  • Maintains correspondence and stays updated with the EMR department to keep knowledge of new functions, changes, and troubleshooting issues with all relevant systems.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.


Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the Clerical Support role preferred.
  • Expert proficiency level with Medical Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record systems (PCIS).
  • Skilled in performing all functions of the Clerical Support roles as outlined in Galen’s Clerical Support Job Descriptions and Clerical Competency Checklist.


Skills/Certifications:

  • Must have the desire and ability to effectively train and educate all clerical staff and other staff as applicable.
  • Must have expert knowledge in the field of practice and perform proficiently in all competency areas.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the healthcare facility.
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Must understand and follow company policies and compliance procedures.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Galen Medical Group’s Code of Conduct.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members throughout the organization.
  • Adapts to using a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to help design and implement effective training and development materials.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
