DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
- Arrests dental decay by applying fluoride and other cavity- preventing agents.
- Complete oral cancer screening
- Use probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
- Expose and develop radiographic studies.
- Educate patients in oral hygiene and plaque control.
- Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories; charting in patient records.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA and HIPPA regulations
- Ensure operation of dental equipment and that preventive maintenance requirements are met.
- Maintain dental supply inventory
- Attend educational workshops that directly impact work performance and growth.

- Adhere to HIPPA, OSHA and Confidentiality rules and regulations.
