Warehouse Team Lead – Pfizer – Pleasant Prairie, WI

ROLE SUMMARY

This position is responsible to effectively lead an operational area of a Logistics Center of approximately 5 to 30 colleagues, managing the efficient flow of goods, services and information between points of origin through order delivery to meet customer and business requirements.

  • Ensures that operational KPI’s are achieved within business objectives.
  • Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as replenishment, data interchange, demand management electronic data systems administration and related functions.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with Pfizer, local, state and federal regulations related to Quality, EHS, Security, Dangerous Goods, Transportation, etc. (FDA, DEA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • May supervise colleagues having hazardous waste job functions. May be responsible for signing hazardous waste manifests.
  • Builds effective relationships with customers through logistics initiatives, integrates learnings from customers, competitors, operating entities, transportation, customer service, industry and professional groups to continuously improve the competitive position.
  • Responsibilities may include occasional special project work and other duties as assigned by the Site Leadership.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the day-to-day business of order assembly fulfillment picking and packaging operations at the Pleasant Prairie Logistics Center.
  • Thorough understanding and management of Cold Chain requirements.
  • The responsibility includes managing and training others in all associated tasks and functions and responsibilities in relation to order assembly.
  • Role also includes working with business units and customer service as necessary to insure effective and efficient flow of outbound Small Package, LTL and TL shipments from the Pleasant Prairie Logistics Center.
  • Working closely with operations compliance functions to ensure operations are in full compliance with internal Pfizer policies and guidelines as well as external regulatory bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Science.
  • Three to five years supply chain, distribution / logistics, or transportation experience.
  • Three years experience in supervision roles, managing non-exempt personnel.
  • Strong PC skills required (Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio).
  • Proven ability to work in a complex matrix organization with demonstrated knowledge of logistics and/or transportations services.
  • Incumbent must pose strong technical/analytical skills and good business sense, strong team work orientation required. Ability to work effectively in an environment of constant change.
  • Motivated individual with strong self-directed capabilities as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics systems warehousing, order-fulfillment, customer services, project management practices and integrated supply chain management required.
  • Knowledge of Operational Excellence methodologies/tools. Lean/Six Sigma certified is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for Pharmaceutical/Biological manufacturing (FDA, DEA and other regulatory industries agencies) preferred.
  • Experience wit SAP preferred.

Colleague will be working in a professional office environment with regular periodic visits to the warehouse. Long hours spent sitting, standing, and walking on concrete on the Warehouse floor. Some lifting of packages of up to 40 lbs. may be required on occasion.

Non-standard work hours are required per business support needs. The position requires on-call availability on occasion. This includes evenings and weekends and the occasional weekend. Travel for meetings and training as required.
