About the practice
Established in the 1960s, this family practice is owned and operated by the founder’s son, Dr. Eric J. Hall. This practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents for over 45 years in Providence County. With two additional locations in Greenville and Cranston, Vision Associates, Inc. is looking to grow its team of 23 staff members, and potentially expand to a fourth location.
As a long-standing business in the community, this practice focuses on providing exceptional care and high-quality products to patients. The office is warm, comfortable, and welcoming, inviting patients to shop top-brand eyewear in a casual setting. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology that includes an OCT, Optos, Humphrey visual field, non-contact tonometer, and auto refactors. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutique—plus a fully-stocked contact lens dispensary is ready to conveniently service patients.
About the opening
The practice is seeking one full-time Doctor of Optometry to provide high-quality care for patients of all ages, insurances, and visual/medical diagnoses. In this role, you’ll perform eye exams for vision and ocular health, and evaluate patients for contact lenses. The current office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Tuesdays until 7:00 p.m.; and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays. The OD will work 38 hours per week with the possibility of overtime.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services. Additionally, the minimum qualifications include:
- Doctor of Optometry license in the state of Rhode Island (or eligibility to sit for examination)
- Therapeutic and Glaucoma certification
