The School of Social Work has an outstanding opportunity for a Training Manager.

Forefront Suicide Prevention is the catalyst for a social movement to save lives lost to suicide. We are considered national thought leaders developing innovative legislation and programs that can be scaled to build capacity for everyone to play a role in suicide prevention. We champion state policy and systems changes within healthcare, schools and higher education institutions, train and support a broad coalition of volunteers to provide resources in their communities, and educate media to shift the culture of this public health issue from one of stigma and silence to openness and empowerment of individuals to take action. This position will interface with external facing organizations, agencies to deliver suicide prevention trainings, continuing to increase our scope and national reputation.

We are seeking a manager to lead our training strategy, manage its implementation and measure its impact. A successful candidate will be passionate about learning and excited about the prospect of leading by example. We need someone to lead training learning and development strategy as well as manage its implementation. This role will manage Forefront’s training line of business. This includes overseeing all training associated with our LEARN Saves Lives curriculum. There will be a 60-minute and a 3-hour version.

DUTIES:

Update/Develop Trainings – 50%

Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.

Identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments

Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards.

Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.

Ensure strategic alignment of the training department with business goals

Coordinate evaluation of individual and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting business needs and improving performance

Coordinate Trainings 50%

Map training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house) for various audiences

Choose appropriate training method and trainer per case (school, community, university, corporate settings)

Develop and Market available training opportunities to relevant audiences

Work with the operations team to manage invoicing and track engagements

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in social science, humanities, or related field.

At least two years of relevant work experience.

Adaptable, able to work in white space to develop programming.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

At least a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public health, or a related field.

Strong team-building and leadership skills.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.

DESIRED:

Knowledge of training program best practices helpful but not required.

Experience with curriculum development preferred.
