Quality Assurance Specialist (Child Care Program Admin I) – Fairfax County Government – Fairfax, VA

Works as the Head Start Quality Assurance Specialist. Collects, analyzes and tracks data to ensure compliance and supervises Public Health Nurse III, Early Head Start Family Child Care Manager, Early Head Start Family Child Care Specialist II, Family and Community Engagement Specialist, Nutritionist and the Human Services Assistant. Works under the general supervision of the Head Start Division Director.

Location: Pennino Building in Fairfax, Virginia.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a closely related field; plus four years of professional experience in child care administration, early childhood education, or related human service administration. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver’s license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver’s license check to the satisfaction of the employer. Appointee must also complete a tuberculosis (TB) test prior to appointment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s in Early Childhood Education and experience with Head Start and supervising staff from various disciplines. Proficiency in Spanish.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary. Analytic ability to analyze data, track and create charts and articulate outcomes. Incumbent may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings at various locations and make presentations to county staff and community. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
