Registered Nurse – Stanford Health Care ValleyCare – Livermore, CA

Functions independently utilizing the nursing process to provide safe and therapeutic care for patients in the Maternal/Child Department. Provides hands-on care to patients, practicing within the standards of care, policies and procedures of the hospital, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, as well as regulatory requirements. Able to assess patients, interpret any data, plan, implement, evaluate the care on an ongoing basis, coordinating care with other provider and be able to teach both the patient and their family members. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams and is accountable and responsible for patient care delegated to other nursing staff and/or ancillary personnel.

RN will be responsible for their own professional development, including licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and maintaining current knowledge regarding the assigned patient population.

Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

2. Current RN licensure to practice in California.

3. One year of experience in L&D department, not including nursing school.

4. Current BLS and NRP certification.

5. Additional current certification deemed appropriate to area(s) of clinical practice:

L&D RN – ACLS upon completion of orientation and NRP certification upon completion of orientation
