Warehouse Associate
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
Division/Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Operations Manager
SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate will support the SOS mission by providing direct support for the gathering, processing, and shipment of donated medical supplies and equipment. This will include responsibilities relating to pickups, sorting, hand carries, and custom orders, warehouse organization, and cleanliness, shipping and record keeping. The Warehouse Associate reports to the Operations Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
At the direction of the Operations Manager, executes timely processing of donated medical supplies and equipment from hospitals and other locations.
Executes the timely set up, take down and clean up for sorting sessions. Maintains all sorting area consistent with established best practices.
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, organizes supplies and equipment within the warehouse for efficient use of available space and with attention to safety. Maintains cleanliness of office space, climate-controlled, sorting space and warehouse space. Ensures the responsible disposal of waste including recyclables.
Stage and prepares supplies and equipment for shipment.
Maintains records as to the donated medical supplies and equipment, weighing and recording weights, tagging, and assisting with inventory.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of inventory control procedures and tracking
Understanding of biomedical supplies and equipment for testing and staging.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Basic math and language skills
Ability to operate handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
Ability to understand spatial dimensions and arrange items efficiently
QUALIFICATIONS
High Graduate or GED
Certified Forklift Operator
Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
Ability to work standing over 8 hours
All inoculations up to date
Flexibility to work occasional 2nd/4th Saturdays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 – $13.00 per hour
