Purchasing Assistant – ABC Health Care – Hampton, VA

ABC Health Care is a leading Home Medical Equipment Supplier in Virginia. We have multiple offices in Hampton Roads, Richmond and the Charlottesville area. We strive on providing exceptional customer service and excellent patient care. We are currently seeking a qualified individual for our open Purchasing Assistant position in our Hampton office. The qualified candidate will reconcile, maintain, organize, and file invoices/purchase orders while assuring accurate data and maintaining sufficient stock of inventory. The job duties required include the following but are not limited to:

  • Initiates and completes purchasing process e.g. price negotiations, terms and po generation
  • Reconcile invoice and purchase order discrepancies
  • Process transfers for equipment in software per locations
  • Evaluates packing slip verification to purchase orders and approves for payment to Accounting Department
  • Works and resolves holds related to inventory
  • Help maintain warehouse and fills in when needed as Warehouse Assistant
  • Stays abreast of knowledge in inventory item functions, safety and replacements
  • Reviews and follows up on open purchase order report
  • Participates in inventory counts per company guidelines
  • Initiate and maintain warranty/repairs
  • Maintains task list and follow ups within company and department guidelines
  • Maintains confidentiality within HIPAA guidelines
  • Providing exceptional Customer Service!

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree, with two years related warehouse/inventory experience.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge, Microsoft Office, Google drive
  • Customer Service skills- communication clearly and pleasantly
  • Capability of moving/lifting up to 75lbs
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Detail oriented; good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse, multi-cultural environment
  • Attention to detail and self motivated
