Job Description

 Spends approximately 75% of hours scheduled working as a driver
 Directly supervises and develops truck drivers and assures driver helpers are trained and held accountable to standards
 Trains, schedules and dispatches drivers in accordance to the department needs
 Assists with interviewing and hiring process
 Assures productivity through coaching and consults and/or recommends to the DGR director any personnel actions to include disciplinary, performance improvement plans, annual reviews and merit pay increases
 Coordinates the work flow associated with the dock and transportation department
 Works with Facility, Fleet & Safety Manager to assure all equipment is in a safe operating condition
 Provides for accurate and timely personnel payroll data and required documentation pertaining to the transportation department
 Operates a forklift and pallet jack safely and maintains related certifications
 Adheres to all DOT regulations and proper documentation
 Holds departmental and safety meetings with drivers and driver helpers
 Coordinates material donation pick-ups (corporate, community, other) with truck drivers
 Provides and assures outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers
 Assures all departmental costs are in line with budgeted expenses and assists in the budgeting process

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Valid Class D driver’s license, good
driving record, commercial driving experience and current DOT medical card required. Experience in logistics, warehouse management, preferred.
