Medical Billing and Coding Specialist – Clarus Dermatology – Saint Anthony, MN

Seeking a world-class medical billing expert to lead the billing department for the fastest growing dermatology practice in Minnesota.

This is your chance to work for a nimble, innovative and fast-growing dermatology practice by building, leading and improving our medical billing and revenue cycle operations. Presently we are outsourcing our billing/coding operation, but we are seeking to bring these functions in-house as we continue to expand our footprint throughout the Twin Cities metro area and into greater Minnesota. Competitive candidates will have a proven track record of excellence in medical billing and revenue cycle operations within multi-million dollar medical practices. The candidate must be able to assess the current state of functional areas and develop a road map of key billing processes/procedures to implement, simplify, and standardize in-house. As operations expand, candidate must work with leadership to scale billing processes and align billing and remittance controls with strategic goals and initiatives. Candidates must be comfortable working independently. This position is anticipated to be 100% remote working with rare in-person meetings a few times a year. Additional skills that we’re looking for:
1) Tenacious work ethic when it comes to recovering contractual obligations from insurance carriers
2) Efficient, results-focused work attitude
3) Coding expertise, particularly with dermatology (medical, surgical and pathology) billing. Our practice owner is a dermatology billing expert who can help train in this area if it is not your core expertise
4) Comfort leading a team of staffers. It is anticipated that additional FTEs will be tasked to you to assist in revenue cycle operations. Expertise in leading teams, along with a desire to improve leadership skills, will be present in competitive candidates. Manage day to day team member issues and conflict resolution.
5) Ability to collaborate with and influence others, including all levels of the organization
6) Demonstrated experience and successes in change management
7) Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
8) Independently resolves issues and removes roadblocks for team to achieve results
9) Must keep management apprised of status thru simplified reporting and metrics

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
