We have various shifts in which we are looking for qualified nursing candidates (LPN or possibly RN) who will promote and maintain our resident’s health and well-being. You will provide direct nursing care and supervision of staff, along with physical or psychological support to our primarily geriatric residents.
Responsibilities
- Ability to coordinate resident’s care needs with a focus on any special or new onset needs and act on them
- Embrace and maintain a family-like environment by providing the nursing support necessary
- Resolve, intervene, or report on Resident’s needs or condition changes
- Prepare residents for appointments with necessary documentation and perform routine vital sign checks (monitor pulse, blood pressure and temperature, provide medication and injections etc)
- Monitor and document resident’s conditions and document any provided care and/or services
- Treat medical emergencies as outlined within your scope of practice (ie. falls, skin tears, treatments)
- Follow care regulations, guidelines, and standards as set by the state of Iowa
- Work within Higley Mansion policies/procedures and cooperate with your team, working under direct supervision of the administrator.
Skills
- Proven nursing experience in long term care
- Sufficient managerial or leadership experience
- Individual who is self-driven with problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task
- Compassionate style interactions with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent team working skills
- diploma in nursing
- Active nursing license to practice in the state of Iowa in good standing (without any restrictions)
