In conjunction with the Director of Nursing, the RN/LPN (ADON) Supervisor utilizes a general understanding of the principles of nursing and the basic physical assessment skills in development of and implementation of individual nursing care plans to ensure that the needs of our Residents are met. The RN/LPN Supervisor assists in the orientation of and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to the daily operations of the community on a per shift, community level, and assumes the responsibilities of a leadership role.

The responsibilities of the RN/LPN Supervisor for any and all shifts include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Arriving to and punching in for work, on-time, for the scheduled shift.
  • Being in uniform, including a master set of keys on their person at all times.
  • Not having any type of cell phone, palm pilot, or other messaging devices other than assigned by on their person.
  • Development and implementation of the Resident Services Department staff schedule, including for finding replacements for call-outs.
  • Ensures that all residents and staff receive necessary immunizations and/or injections and maintains documentation of same.
  • Coordinates daily assignments of Resident Service Associates on all shifts and checks to see assignments have been completed at the end of the Associate’s shift and all documentation is in Point Click Care (PCC).
  • Ensures that all medications have been administered correctly and all proper documentation is in order for each cart for the scheduled shift.
  • Ensures there are no missed doses of medications and that all medications are in-house. Any missed or missing medications are to be reported as a Medication Error and submitted to the Director of Nursing.
  • Ensures that all medications discontinued have corresponding physician documentation.
  • Administers medications as assigned by the Director of Nursing, and/or as needed in relation to staffing needs.
  • Responsible for Weekly Medication Monitoring Report to be submitted to the Director of Nursing each Friday.
  • Coordinates laboratory services and provides provision of durable medical equipment for those identified residents.
  • Orders supplies for the Resident Services Department as assigned by the Director of Nursing and approved by the Executive Director.
  • Responsible for all charting and documentation in Resident charts.
  • Provides emotional and physical comfort and safety to all our residents.
  • Coordinates visits to and from outside health agencies and schedules physician appointments.
  • Provides Health Care Services/Treatments to residents as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  • Will provide additional patient care support to the staff, as required or needed.
  • Ensures that all general service and health plans are accurate and maintained under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Completes weekly Chart Audits to be submitted to the Director of Nursing monthly.
  • Responsible for supervising and ensuring that Resident Service Associates comply with all Bentley Senior Living policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for counseling (documentation of) and/or writing up any Associate for violations of policies, procedures, resident rights, etc. for employee files.
  • Participation in rotating weekend coverage of Resident Services Department.
  • May be required to stay later than assigned hours to ensure department coverage.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

· Must hold current licensure (in good standing) as an RN/LPN in the state you are operating in

· Management experience and supervisory skills

· Ability to read, write and speak English

· Ability to lift 75 pounds, leveraged

· Ability to sit, stand, bend and walk

· Ability to use office equipment, including fax, phone, copier and computer, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour
