Immediate Openings for Part Time Caregivers – NorCal Care – Emeryville, CA

NorCal Care CS is a leader in the healthcare industry providing Supported Living Services (SLS) to individuals with developmental disabilities and home care services in Northern California. We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Caregiver / Direct Services Staff or healthcare professional in the Bay area to join our team! Summary:

We are looking for a committed individual who has great communication skills and the ability to quickly problem-solve. Our Caregivers / Direct Services Staff perform non-medical home care for clients who, due to developmental disability, advanced age, physical disability, and/or mental deficiency, need supervision. Caregivers / Direct Services Staff also may work flexible schedules of their choice. Our shifts are available Monday through Sunday ranging from 2-12 hours long or up to 24 hour long shifts. These shifts can occur during the morning, day, evenings or overnight. Our Caregivers / Direct Services Staff provide a wide range of non-medical services to ensure clients overall wellness which includes, but is not limited to: light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, meal preparation, medication reminders, transferring, feeding, dressing, and range of motion exercises. As well as personal care including: toileting, incontinence care, bathing, oral care, and grooming.

Caregiver Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Arrive to and from assigned shift on time and properly document all shifts worked
  • Appropriately report any changes to client’s mental/physical health or home environment immediately
  • Maintain proper documentation pertaining to client health and follow specific instructions pertaining to client health and other duties assigned
  • Comply with rules and regulations pertaining to client health information, specifically HIPAA’s policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of NorCal Care CS
  • Represent NorCal Care CS to the best of your ability
  • Promote positive, supportive, and respectful communication to client/family and NorCal Care CS staff

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED Diploma
  • REQUIRED: Caregiver experience
  • REQUIRED: 2 Caregiver / Direct Services references required
  • REQUIRED: Documentation compliant with I-9 requirements (eg. driver’s license, passport, social security card etc.)
  • REQUIRED: Ability to lift 20lbs regularly and up to 40lbs occasionally
  • REQUIRED: Cleared criminal background
  • No certification or special training required to get hired. We will provide on the job training
  • Proof of negative tuberculosis test/chest x-ray within 90 days preferred but not required to get hired
  • Professional Caregiver / Direct Services experience preferred but not required to get hired
  • Registered Home Care Aide (HCA) preferred but not required to get hired
  • IHSS Provider preferred but not required to get hired
  • DSP Certification preferred but not required to get hired
  • CPR & First Aid Certification preferred but not required to get hired
  • Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, climb stepladder
  • Firm grasping fine, stand 20 mins, walk ½ mile
