Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing required from an accredited professional nursing education program


LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Valid Registered Nurse License from the Texas State Board of Nursing

Current CPR and AED Certification

Current First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification

Current First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor TRAINER Certification

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum of 3 years experience as a school nurse

Minimum of 1 year additional leadership experience

Minimum of 2 years additional experience as an RN in community health or other related fields preferred

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the RN scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and present training information to adult learners
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with staff, students, and other system administrators both verbally and in writing


JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY

The Coordinator Contact Tracing will directly support the Human Resources and Behavioral Health & Wellness departments in contact tracing staff and students. The incumbent will be responsible for the management, training and support of the Service Response Representatives (SRR), which includes district wellness, daily health checks, and contact tracing. The Coordinator Contact Tracing will support the District’s contact tracing process of interviewing those who have tested positive for the virus, determining people who have been in close contact with that positive individual, connecting with those close contacts to gather further information, and provide guidance to students and staff. The incumbent will assist the District with ensuring compliance of State, Federal, and local standards.

  • Directly supports the District’s contact tracing operations and systems
  • Trains and monitors Service Response Representatives to contact trace students and staff, including interviewing those who have tested positive for the virus, determining people who have been in close contact with that positive individual, connecting with those close contacts to gather further information, and provide guidance to students and staff
  • Provide direct guidance to District families and staff regarding the need to self-isolate, self-quarantine or return to campus
  • Assist with screening, interviewing, and growing high-quality staff
  • Collaborate with Information Services to support health services electronic records application
  • Participate actively as a member of the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) by organizing meetings, updating the SHAC webpage, and maintaining membership
  • Directly support campus administration and Campus/Department COVID-19 Teams
  • Provide direct guidance to Department COVID-19 Teams regarding when staff are cleared to return to campuses and departments
  • Coordinate District based health and wellness initiatives and programs
  • Consult with staff on an as-needed basis concerning District wellness programs and the District Wellness Policy
  • Provide direct nursing support to FBISD departments as deemed necessary by the Coordinator of Health Services
  • Coordinate, compile, and submit all required reports to District Leadership, TEA, local health auhorities, and others as necessary
  • Communicate with departments and community members about contact tracing, health program opportunities and health awareness updates
  • Assist the District in compiling data for all state-required reports including annual immunization compliance, vision, hearing, scoliosis, and acanthosis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of related policy and procedures for health services
  • Remain current on best practices, laws affecting nursing practice, and policies and procedures
  • Attend state and national workshops/conferences and serve on committees to advance professional learning aligned to the comprehensive professional learning plan
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to District’s policies and applicable laws
  • Assist in the process of recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, and training assigned staff
  • Conduct performance appraisal of assigned staff as well as assist with conducting clinical staff audits
  • Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner
